Why Do We Suffer Even When God Knows Everything?

Description

Why Do We Suffer Even When God Knows Everything?

At some point in life, almost everyone asks this question silently or loudly.

If God truly knows everything — our past, present, and future — then why do we still have to go through pain, loss, and struggle?

Why doesn’t God simply remove suffering from our lives?

This question usually comes not from curiosity, but from pain.

From moments when life feels unfair, when prayers seem unanswered, and when hope feels distant.

Suffering Is Not Always a Punishment

One common belief is that suffering is a punishment.

But in reality, not all pain comes because we did something wrong.

Many good people suffer.

Many honest, kind, and faithful individuals face hardships that they never deserved.

This itself tells us something important:

Suffering is not always about punishment.

Often, it is about growth, change, and inner strength.

God Knows the Outcome, But We Need the Journey

Think of a teacher who knows that a student will pass an exam.

Still, the student must study, face stress, and sit for the test.

Not because the teacher enjoys the student’s struggle,

but because learning does not happen without effort.

In the same way, God may know who we can become —

but we discover ourselves only through the journey.

Without struggle:

  • Patience never develops
  • Faith remains shallow
  • Inner strength stays hidden

Pain Teaches What Comfort Never Can

Comfort keeps life smooth, but pain makes life meaningful.

When everything is going well, we rarely stop to reflect.

But when life hurts, we think deeply:

  • about ourselves
  • about our priorities
  • about what truly matters

Many people say later in life:

“That painful phase changed me for the better.”

Pain breaks illusions and brings clarity.

God Does Not Always Remove Pain, But Gives Strength

A very important truth is often misunderstood.

God does not promise a life without pain.

But faith often gives the strength to endure pain.

There is a difference between:

  • a life without problems
  • and a life where problems don’t destroy you

Faith helps people stand when logic fails.

It gives hope when answers are missing.

Suffering Builds Empathy and Humanity

People who have suffered deeply often become more compassionate.

They understand others’ pain without explanation.

If life were always easy:

  • empathy would be rare
  • kindness would feel artificial

Suffering connects humans to humans.

It reminds us that we are not alone in pain.

God Is Silent, Not Absent

One of the hardest parts of suffering is silence.

It feels like God is not listening.

But silence does not mean absence.

Many times, understanding comes after the pain passes.

Only later do we see why things happened the way they did.

What feels like abandonment today

may turn into understanding tomorrow.

Final Thought

If God knows everything, suffering still exists because:

  • Growth needs experience
  • Strength needs testing
  • Faith needs depth
  • Humanity needs humility

Suffering is not proof that God doesn’t care.

Sometimes, it is proof that life is shaping us into something stronger, wiser, and more compassionate.
