A Letter to Myself on the Last Day of 2025
Dear Me,
Today is 31 December 2025.
The last page of this year is slowly closing, and before it does, I want to sit with you for a moment—without noise, without filters, without pretending that everything was perfect.
This year was not easy.
And that’s okay.
You survived days when you felt lost.
You smiled on days when your heart was heavy.
You kept going even when you didn’t know where you were headed.
That matters more than you realize.
This year taught you that not every effort gives immediate results.
Some dreams stayed dreams.
Some plans failed quietly.
Some people walked away without explanation.
At times, you blamed yourself.
You wondered if you were not enough, not fast enough, not strong enough.
But look at you now—
still standing, still learning, still hoping.
That itself is progress.
You learned that silence is sometimes louder than words.
That not everyone who promises to stay actually stays.
And that it’s okay to outgrow people, places, and versions of yourself.
You learned to protect your energy.
To say no without guilt.
To rest without feeling lazy.
These lessons didn’t come gently.
They came through disappointment, waiting, and long nights of thinking.
But they shaped you.
This year also showed you the beauty of small moments.
A quiet walk.
A deep conversation.
A cup of tea when everything felt overwhelming.
You realized happiness is not always loud.
Sometimes it’s calm.
Sometimes it’s just peace.
And peace is underrated.
Dear Me,
stop being so hard on yourself.
You did the best you could with what you knew at the time.
You’re allowed to change your mind.
You’re allowed to take a different path.
Life is not a race, even if the world keeps telling you it is.
As you step into 2026, carry these truths with you:
- You don’t need to have everything figured out.
- Healing is not linear.
- Growth often feels uncomfortable.
- Comparison steals joy—avoid it.
- Consistency matters more than perfection.
And most importantly,
don’t lose your kindness—not even when life tests you.
Leave behind the guilt of things you couldn’t control.
Leave behind the fear of starting late.
Leave behind the need to please everyone.
Take with you your courage, your honesty, and your willingness to try again.
This letter is not about motivation.
It’s about acceptance.
Accept who you were.
Respect who you are becoming.
Trust who you will be.
The year is ending, but you are not.
With patience,
With hope,
With belief—
From you, to you.
